3 SECOND GALLERY

The 3sec.gallery and De Affiche Galerij annually challenge first-years art students from Dutch art academies to ‘reclaim the streets’ with their message in the form of a poster. Nowadays posters are mostly digital and silk-screen prints are rare. To challenge that boring uniformity, we were asked to ‘hack’ the commercial poster.

There were 129 posters submitted, and the jury picked the best 48 submissions. They were exhibited in Metro-station Het Spui in The Hague as well as a large parking garage in Breda, viewed by a million and a hundred-thousand people respectively.
